Water Music Festival, in its 34th year, is scheduled for October 12, 13 and 14, 2018 on the Long Beach Peninsula.

The theme, “SPANNING THE GLOBE”, will provide concertgoers with music from all over the world in three separate and diverse concerts. Friday night the 12th, at the Inn at Harbour Village in Ilwaco, you will hear FANDANGO! Festival patrons may have heard the fabulous GRAMMY NOMINEES, Cavatina Duo, two years ago at Oysterville Church. That flute and guitar duo is joined by two additional exceptional musicians on cello and violin to form FANDANGO!  The quartet plays a toe-tappingly spicy mix of Latin, Spanish, Balkan and classical works. They have received rave reviews with their exciting arrangements and brilliant execution! Come at 6:30 pm for the social hour, followed by a 7:30 pm concert. Then, on Saturday, the setting will be the intimate, historic Oysterville Church, as the Festival welcomes classical guitarist Marc Teicholz whom critics have hailed as “one of the best they have ever heard”. Listen to Marc’s superb artistry, incredible dexterity and rhythmic assurance in an afternoon concert at 3:00 pm. And finally, Sunday the 14th you will be thrilled by a returning artist, classical pianist Alpin Hong, who last appeared here in 2009.  This pianistic firebrand has been one of the Festival’s all-time favorite artists. Alpin’s stunning technique, emotional range, and rare humor bring audiences young and old to their feet.  He devotes a great deal of time to educational outreach and working with young people.   So this concert is a not-to-be-missed afternoon concert for all ages at the Eagles Nest in Ilwaco at 3:00 pm, preceded by a social hour at 2:00 pm. The Eagles Nest provides wonderful views, a large space for the social hour, “up close and personal” seating, convenient parking and handicapped accessibility. Tickets to all this year’s concerts can be purchased online at watermusicfestival.com. Groups are encouraged to get tickets now as available tickets are going rapidly. A portion of all Water Music Society’s proceeds goes to assist local school music programs! And if you would like to go to dinner at one of the Peninsula’s fine restaurants October 12, 13 or 14, the following restaurants will give you a 10% discount if you mention “Water Music Festival”:  The Depot, SALT, 42nd Street Café, Shelburne, Pickled Fish.
